I just came back from Surigao! And ... what a long trip from Cagayan de Oro! Whew! Staying in a Korean Hotel by the beach, I couldn't help but be awed by the sight and sound of the great Pacific Ocean. Wow! I've realized that it was my first encounter with this biggest body of water in the world. Its waves were high and strong, nothing like those I've seen in Luzon. It was creating a lot of noise too. Hmmm ... and so I asked: How would anyone judge this mighty ocean? Two ways ... I thought: One, we can perhaps be so afraid of the giant waves that we opt to stay farther inland and feel most safe and secure. Or ... two ... we can think of the great explorers of old ... Columbus, Magellan, da Gama, etc. ... and imagine the new shores, the great adventures that are offered for us to discover. Hmmm ... life is short! Why miss the opportunities which only those crazy waves can offer!
